PhD student position
In Structural Virology / Mass Spectrometry
The Heinrich Pette Institute – Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology in Hamburg, Germany, invites applications for one PhD student position in the new research group "Dynamics of viral structures" of Dr. Charlotte Uetrecht.
The group studies intracellular functions and interactions of viral proteins. Using advanced mass spectrometric techniques, especially native mass spectrometry, structural information of viral protein complexes is derived in a time-resolved manner.
We are searching for exceptional, highly motivated candidates holding a diploma/master degree experienced in at least one of the necessary disciplines and techniques thereof (structural biology, mass spectrometry or virology). Experience in cell biology, protein purification or proteomics would be an asset. We offer the opportunity to perform cutting-edge research in an extremely stimulating work environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Starting in May 2014 (or later), the position is initially funded for three years with the possibility of extension. Payment and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TV-AVH (salary agreement for public service employees).
