VMir
Software for the prediction of potential pre-miRNA hairpin structures. The software is provided as a zipped archive which contains two programs: VMir Analyzer performs the actual analysis and VMir Viewer visualizes the results. Further information and installation instructions are provided in the README.txt.

Release 1.5: VMir Analyzer v2.3 / VMir Viewer v1.6 (as described in (1)):
- Added a tool that allows the user to adjust the stringency of the scoring algorithm.
Release 1.4: VMir Analyzer v2.3 / VMir Viewer v1.5:
- Fixed a bug in VMir Analyzer which could stall the program when access to temporary files was delayed
Release 1.3: VMir Analyzer v2.2 / VMir Viewer v1.5 (as described in (2)):
- Decreased the default size of the hairpin segment which VMir Analyzer considers to calculate scores from 120 to 100 to prevent over-penalization of large bulges at the base of hairpin structures
- Added tools for the design and analysis of oligonucleotide microarrays to confirm miRNA predictions to VMir Viewer
Release 1.0: VMir Analyzer v2.1 / VMir Viewer v1.2 (Original Version as described in (3,6))
