Emerging Viruses
The general area of our research is the immunobiology of infection of ssRNA viruses with a special focus on influenza A virus and filoviruses. We are particularly interested in defining the mechanisms utilized by dendritic cells (DCs) for T cell priming, as well as the sub-specialization of DC subsets in the antiviral response. The lessons learned in these basic studies are used to develop new vaccines for the treatment of emerging viral diseases.
