Declaration on Accessibility

The Heinrich Pette Institute, Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology (HPI) is committed to providing accessibility to its website in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For this reason, the HPI designs its web presence to be largely accessible under the given conditions and uses all possibilities offered by the content management program used (in this case: Typo3).

The tasks of the HPI as Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology are highly scientific. Accordingly, the language of the HPI is a scientific language. The target audience of the HPI website comprises members of the scientific and research community. Accordingly, the contents of the HPI website are mainly aimed at a very specific professional audience. These contents (scientific texts and graphics, etc.) can in principle not completely fulfill the requirements of accessibility. Therefore, the HPI asks everyone who encounters such barriers for understanding.

This declaration on accessibility applies to the website www.hpi-hamburg.de.

Status of Compliance with the requirements

The HPI is committed to providing accessibility to the website www.hpi-hamburg.de. The legal basis ist the Hamburg Act on the Equality of Disabled Persons (Hamburgisches Gesetz zur Gleichstellung behinderter Menschen, HmbGGbM) and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung, BITV 2.0).

Currently we are having the HPI website tested by an external agency according to the criteria of the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). As soon as we have the test results, we will publish them on this page.
