Technology Platforms

During the last few years, the LIV expanded its existing scientific infrastructures and structured them into the Flow cytometry/FACS and Microscopy and Image Analysis technology platforms. In addition, new technology platforms for Next Generation Sequencing and Small Animal Models were established for infection research.

The subjects and methods of the technology platforms strictly adhere to the institute’s development and research goals in both program areas and consolidate its core competencies in methods and technology.

The technology platforms function as research based service units associated with departments and research groups. Using the latest technology they enable holistic investigations of infection processes with high throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, BSL2/BSL3-small animal infection models and sophisticated imaging technology across all resolution channels. A research based infrastructure design also ensures that technologies are continuously developed at a high standard and allows the LIV to expand its involvement in research based services.
